Nós, abaixo assinados, escritora e escritores brasileiros representantes do Brasil na Feira do Livro de Frankfurt de 2018, pautados na defesa da liberdade de expressão e dos direitos humanos:
1- Repudiamos a escalada fascista no Brasil e alertamos para a eleição eminente de um candidato racista, machista, homofóbico, apologista da tortura e que advoga pelo extermínio de ativistas e das minorias;
2- Lembramos que, se o candidato é fascista, a maior parte de seus eleitores não é. O desencanto pela política os levou a um voto de protesto com consequências desastrosas. Ainda há tempo de rever o próprio voto antes do segundo turno eleitoral, colocando o respeito às diferenças e à liberdade acima de disputas partidárias;
3- Rogamos pela criação de ampla frente democrática antifascista que nos livre do pior. A constituição de 1988 está em risco, assim como a vida de mulheres, LGBTs, negras, negros e ativistas que têm sofrido agressões por todo o país.

Wir, die unterzeichnenden Mitglieder der brasilianischen
Schriftsteller*innen-Delegation auf der Frankfurter Buchmesse 2018
– wenden uns gegen den Aufstieg des Faschismus in Brasilien und warnen vor der wahrscheinlichen Wahl eines rassistischen, machistischen, homophoben Präsidentschaftskandidaten, der Folter befürwortet und sich regelrecht für die Vernichtung von Aktivist*innen und Minderheiten ausspricht.
– Auch wenn der Kandidat ein Faschist ist, trifft dies auf die Mehrzahl seiner Wähler*innen nicht zu. Daran möchten wir erinnern. Es ist die Enttäuschung über die Politik, die zu einer Protestwahl geführt hat, deren Folgen verheerend sein werden. Noch ist Zeit, vor dem zweiten Urnengang in der Stichwahl das eigene Abstimmungsverhalten zu überdenken und den Respekt vor der Diversität und der Freiheit über alle parteipolitischen Auseinandersetzungen zu stellen.
– Wir rufen zur Bildung einer breiten demokratischen, antifaschistischen Front auf, die uns vor dem Schlimmsten bewahrt. In Gefahr ist die Verfassung von 1988 ebenso wie das Leben von Frauen, LGBT-Menschen, Schwarzen und Aktivist*innen, die schon jetzt überall im Land zunehmender Aggression ausgesetzt sind.

We, the undersigned Brazilian writers, representing Brazil at the 2018 Frankfurt Book Fair, defending values such as freedom of expression and human rights, affirm the following principles:
1 – We reject the rise of fascism in Brazil and call out the imminent election of a racist, misogynistic, homophobic presidential candidate, someone who speaks in favor of torture and defends the extermination of minorities and activists;
2 – We remind that while such candidate is a fascist, the majority of his electors are not. Their disenchantment with politics is leading them to cast a protest vote, with disastrous consequences. There is still time to rethink your vote before the second round of Brazilian presidential elections, and to place respect to freedom and differences above the dispute between political parties;
3- We plead for the creation of a democratic, anti-fascist alliance that free us from the worst. Brazilian 1988 Constitution is at risk, as well as the life of women, LGBT, Black people and activists, who have already suffered attacks all over the country.
